About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain backend services, APIs and integrations supporting digital asset custody, trading, payment and transaction flows
- Integrate specialist platforms, including Fireblocks and Trever, into Rabobank’s secure and regulated technology environment
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, operational tooling and integrations with core banking systems
- Implement secure solutions for transaction signing and cryptographic key management
- Support production services by improving observability, reliability and incident management
- Contribute to engineering practices and technical direction within the Digital Assets Services team
- Work with architects, engineers, business teams and strategic technology partners
- Help turn architectural designs and emerging use cases into scalable production systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least seven years of experience as a software engineer, platform engineer or in a comparable technical role
- Strong experience in backend development, including designing distributed systems and integrating APIs and SaaS platforms in complex enterprise environments
- Practical experience with AWS or Azure, CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps
- Experience deploying and operating workloads on Kubernetes-based platforms such as OpenShift
- Experience operating Linux-based environments across cloud and on-premise infrastructure
- Experience supporting production services, including observability, reliability and incident management
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to take ownership of complex technical solutions while collaborating with other engineers
- Knowledge of blockchain technology, tokenisation or stablecoins is a nice-to-have
- Knowledge of cryptographic key management or transaction-signing infrastructure is a nice-to-have
- Experience with institutional custody, trading or digital asset platforms such as Fireblocks or Trever is a nice-to-have
- Must be located in the Netherlands and have the legal right to work in the Netherlands
- Candidates who require relocation from another country cannot be considered
