About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and execute the IT delivery strategy for the Consumer Interaction area
- Set priorities, shape the roadmap, and ensure successful delivery aligned with Rabobank’s strategic goals
- Act as the primary IT delivery expert within the area triangle
- Contribute to shaping and developing the IT strategy as a member of the Tech4Engineering Management Team
- Provide direction on software development, security, performance, and agile technology decisions
- Drive operational transformation and innovation
- Improve the area’s service portfolio, including discovery, design, marketing, team performance insight, work item management, and strategic portfolio management
- Advance Simplified@Scale and DevOps maturity
- Lead the transition to empowered, high-performing teams through upskilling, reskilling, and learning
- Create balanced onshore and offshore teams and manage vendors and partners, including contract negotiations, joint development, and on-site visits
- Co-create and implement the IT vision for the Tech4Engineering tribe
- Manage IT risks and uphold security standards
- Act as stand-by manager once per quarter for business continuity and 24x7 service delivery
- Serve as hierarchical manager for approximately six squads and around 40 colleagues
- Foster skill development and craftsmanship
- Oversee budgets and optimize service deployment and maintenance efficiency
Requirements
What you’ll need- Academic level of thinking and working
- 10+ years of experience in senior leadership roles within complex IT environments
- Strong strategic and entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience leading and developing large teams of approximately 40 employees
- Experience driving behavioral change, talent growth, and high-performing DevOps organizations
- Extensive knowledge of Agile and DevOps ways of working
- Knowledge of work item management, portfolio management, service design, consumer success enablement, and scaling models such as Simplified@Scale
- Strong affinity with software engineering and operations
- Experience with offshore/nearshore collaboration
- Business-level proficiency in Dutch and English
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries is a plus
- Self-starter with intrinsic motivation and strong sense of ownership
- Experience hiring the right people and working directly with squads
- Strong coaching, communication, analytical, conceptual, stakeholder management, and adaptability skills
- Must be located in the Netherlands and have the legal right to work in the Netherlands
