About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work within the Audio and Digital sector
  • Produce original content showcasing CBC/Radio-Canada programming and helping content reach broader audiences
  • Develop ideas and produce vertical-format content in the studio and various locations
  • Develop video concepts and formats tailored to different digital uses and platforms
  • Determine narrative and visual approaches based on subject, personality, format and distribution context
  • Propose creative ways to showcase content through concise, engaging storytelling
  • Develop content that can stand on its own
  • Adapt framing, composition, direction and on-camera talent direction for different formats and platforms
  • Edit videos and adapt pacing, structure and visual treatment for different digital uses
  • Produce versions and adaptations of source material when appropriate
  • Bring a strategic perspective aligned with objectives established with the relevant teams
  • Collaborate with editorial, creative and technical teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in video production
  • Excellent understanding of digital video conventions, particularly short-form, vertical and personality-driven formats
  • Excellent editorial judgment and visual storytelling skills
  • Ability to independently develop video content from concept to final product
  • Ability to direct and support public personalities on camera with sensitivity and sound judgment
  • Relevant experience in video shooting and editing
  • Strong ability to use video production and editing tools
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Excellent sense of framing, composition, pacing and visual aesthetics
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong command of written French
  • French language skills: advanced reading, speaking and writing
  • Successful completion of an interview
  • Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing
