About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team for English Services client groups including Marketing, Communications & Brand, Public Affairs, Sports, Digital, Transformation, Media Solutions, and Operations
  • Partner with client leadership to drive workforce strategies and address business and people challenges
  • Leverage internal HR centers of expertise and provide proactive insights, tools, and analytics
  • Lead, manage, and coach a team of Senior HR Generalists
  • Foster a solutions-oriented mindset focused on creativity, adaptability, open-mindedness, and rapid issue resolution
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and strategic partnerships within English Services
  • Lead implementation of the people management strategy for English Services teams
  • Provide expert HR guidance to senior leaders and contribute to operational planning
  • Conduct HR and industrial relations investigations as needed
  • Execute medium- and long-term HR strategies for complex operational and corporate priorities
  • Foster positive union-management relations with local and national union representatives, including CMG and APS
  • Oversee team activities and develop team members’ professional potential
  • Participate in regional and national HR initiatives and strategic projects
  • Report to the Senior Director, Human Resources

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or equivalent field
  • CHRP/CHRL professional designation preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience in a complex matrix, unionized environment
  • In-depth understanding of federally regulated workplaces, industrial relations, and collective bargaining agreements
  • Experience preferably within media, broadcasting, or a federally regulated sector
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a track record of motivating and developing teams
  • Bilingualism in English and French is required, or a strong commitment to develop French language skills
  • Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing
  • Successful candidates must complete a mandatory criminal record check and may undergo other background checks based on operational requirements
  • Employees must adhere to the Code of Conduct as a condition of employment
