About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conceive and document technical analyses for primarily web-based software application development and integration
  • Integrate, optimize and maintain cloud solutions
  • Develop, test and maintain related APIs
  • Perform hands-on development and coding
  • Conduct unit, integration and functional testing
  • Support deployments in line with best practices and established standards
  • Support and maintain applications and respond to system issues and bugs
  • Contribute to solution design and architecture with the team and lead developers
  • Ensure effective application implementation and integration with appropriate documentation
  • Conduct integration testing of separately developed components
  • Work as part of a cross-functional Corporate Services IT Application Portfolio Management team based in Montreal

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certificate or bachelor’s degree in computer science with specialization in software development (or equivalent)
  • Five to seven years’ experience in an application development role
  • Proven track record of web development, including front-end and back-end portions
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum development methodology
  • Knowledge of Microsoft development environments, continuous integration environments such as Jenkins, and source code archiving tools such as Git
  • Experience with SPA development, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript and Bootstrap/AngularJS components
  • Experience with the .NET platform and C# language
  • Experience with Azure platform services, including Function Apps, Data Factory, Event Grid and Data Storage
  • Experience developing web services with REST API architecture
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • Knowledge of cloud design patterns is an asset
  • Experience with test automation tools such as xUnit and Cypress is an asset
  • Knowledge of Python is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid command of spoken and written French and English
  • Proven teamwork skills
  • Analytical mind
  • Ability to incorporate new concepts and work within tight deadlines
  • Ability to stay current with technologies, trends, development approaches and architectures
  • Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing
