About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and maintain enterprise architecture vision, principles, standards, and roadmaps aligned with the bank’s business strategy
- Own and evolve enterprise integration architecture and strategy across APIs, events, messaging, batch/file integration, and legacy patterns
- Define target architecture and roadmap for the enterprise integration layer, including API Management, event streaming, iPaaS, service connectivity, and core banking integration
- Drive development of a reusable, secure, observable, and governed enterprise API and integration ecosystem
- Establish and govern integration standards and patterns
- Own and evolve the enterprise API, Event, and Integration Catalog
- Define API and event governance and lifecycle management
- Establish API-first and event-driven architecture principles
- Define boundaries between domain services, integration platforms, data platforms, and shared enterprise capabilities
- Facilitate cross-domain integration architecture decisions and resolve dependencies and conflicts
- Develop and govern the Enterprise Architecture framework across application, data, integration, and technology domains
- Maintain and evolve the 1,000+ application portfolio, driving rationalization, modernization, and technical-debt reduction
- Lead Architecture Review Board processes and evaluate solution designs
- Review major architectures for integration design, service boundaries, coupling, resilience, scalability, security, and reuse
- Own and manage the Technology Radar and technology lifecycle policies
- Collaborate with tribe leads, product owners, solution architects, platform teams, and business stakeholders across 10 domains
- Apply TOGAF, BIAN, and ArchiMate standards and BIAN concepts
- Conduct architecture maturity assessments and define improvement roadmaps
- Provide strategic guidance on data architecture and regulatory alignment
- Improve integration observability, reliability, security, and operational governance
- Identify redundant interfaces, duplicate APIs, point-to-point integrations, and obsolete technologies and define modernization/decommissioning roadmaps
- Mentor solution architects and engineering leads
- Communicate architecture strategy, decisions, roadmaps, and trade-offs to C-level and technical audiences
- Help Raiffeisen Bank, Ukraine’s largest bank with foreign capital, deliver reliable banking products and services to more than 2.5 million clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7–10+ years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in enterprise, integration, or solution architecture roles, preferably in banking or financial services
- Strong hands-on background in enterprise integration architecture and large-scale integration landscapes
- Expertise in API architecture, API Management, REST, asynchronous APIs, event-driven architecture, Kafka, event streaming, messaging, ESB, iPaaS, service integration, partner integrations, and legacy/core banking integration
- Experience designing or governing enterprise integration platforms/layers and target architecture roadmaps
- Experience implementing API and event governance, catalogs, ownership models, versioning, lifecycle management, documentation, security standards, and reuse policies
- Understanding of integration patterns and anti-patterns, orchestration versus choreography, transactional integration, eventual consistency, idempotency, retries, dead-letter handling, and distributed-system resilience
- Strong understanding of OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, token management, authorization, rate limiting, and API gateway security
- Experience with Kong, Apigee, MuleSoft, Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway, Kafka, Confluent, or equivalent platforms
- Knowledge of TOGAF, Zachman, ArchiMate, UML, and BPMN
- Experience with EA tools such as LeanIX, Ardoq, MEGA, or similar
- Understanding of banking domains including core banking, payments, lending, customer onboarding, KYC/AML, cards, accounting, and regulatory compliance
- Experience with BIAN Service Landscape
- Understanding of AWS, Azure, hybrid infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker, service connectivity, and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with data products, Data Mesh/Data Fabric, Master Data Management, Data Governance, and analytics platforms
- Knowledge of DDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing, microservices, CI/CD, DevOps, and observability
- Experience in technology portfolio governance, Technology Radar management, lifecycle policies, build-vs-buy analysis, and vendor assessment
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience facilitating Architecture Review Boards, architecture workshops, and cross-functional alignment sessions
- Strategic thinking combined with pragmatic execution
- Fluent English communication skills, written and spoken
- TOGAF or equivalent certification, BIAN certification, Agile-at-scale experience, core banking transformation experience, ESB modernization, AI/ML integration, business capability modeling, and IT strategy development are nice to have
