About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and evolve the agent harness behind customer-facing and internal agentic products from prototype to production
- Convert Rainforest's payments expertise into skills, knowledge bases, and runbooks for agents
- Build agentic connectors with MCP
- Manage data retention and security with AWS Bedrock AgentCore products
- Enforce policy at the harness level so agent actions are checked against clear rules
- Anticipate problems that arise at scale
- Build internal agents for teams across Rainforest, beginning with the Risk team
- Scope and lead projects within the squad and partner closely with an incoming product manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on experience building agentic products that run in production
- Experience building agent harnesses on commercial LLMs, ideally Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI models
- Strong working knowledge of persistent memory, tool and skill design, and multi-step task execution
- Experience building MCP servers or similar tool integrations, including authentication and permissioning for agents acting on a user's behalf
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, with the last 2 years focused on agentic or LLM-based systems
- Comfort working as an individual contributor who scopes and leads projects without direct reports
- Ability to work from our Atlanta HQ on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- Experience with AWS, Bedrock AgentCore, or open-weight models (a plus)
- Payments or fintech experience (a plus)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
