About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Find permanent homes for youth, especially those hardest to place, in the foster care system
- Learn about youth on the caseload by thoroughly reviewing their history and listening to their needs
- Solve problems, advocate for youth, and identify past and current connections to help youth find stability
- Build a network of supportive connections in the lives of children and youth
- Help youth achieve legal permanency
- Implement the Dave Thomas Foundation's Wendy's Wonderful Kids child-focused, evidence-based recruitment model
- Work closely with community leaders, CASA employees, case workers, attorneys, therapists, youth, judges, and other stakeholders
- Expand knowledge of the child welfare system and trauma dynamics
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field
- 1-3 years of experience working within child welfare, including CASA, courts, probation, department of human services, foster care, group home, day treatment program, or mental health
- General computer literacy required
- Up to 50% travel, mostly driving within the state, is required
- Dependable transportation and insurability as a driver
- Ability and willingness to travel with flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong working relationships with diverse populations, including public agency staff
- Willingness to engage in cold calling
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office Suite and database/data-mining experience preferred
- Master's Degree in Social Work preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Previous working experience with adoption or child welfare preferred
- Expertise in providing family support services preferred
- Knowledge of trauma impact and trauma-informed practices preferred
