About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develops switched-mode, bidirectional DC/DC converters and Active Front Ends up to 100 kW, from requirements and concept development through production readiness
  • Designs and sizes power stages, magnetic components, and driver, measurement, and protection concepts
  • Evaluates technical trade-offs regarding performance, cost, robustness, and manufacturability
  • Oversees the schematics and PCB layout of power assemblies
  • Supports thermal, electrical, and electromagnetic validation and compliance activities
  • Plans commissioning and verification activities
  • Performs structured analysis of complex failure modes
  • Provides traceable documentation of design decisions and verification evidence
  • Collaborates with developers from other disciplines, stakeholders in production and procurement, and external suppliers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Successfully completed degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, power engineering, or a comparable qualification combined with relevant practical expertise
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics development as well as analog and digital circuit design
  • Good knowledge of control and regulation engineering for power electronic systems
  • Knowledge of the magnetic and thermal design of high-frequency transformers and inductors
  • Proven ability to select and qualify power semiconductors, passive components, and driver and protection concepts
  • Knowledge of SiC and GaN technologies is an advantage
  • Experience in circuit simulation, commissioning, verification, and structured failure analysis
  • Independent, methodical, and team-oriented approach to work
  • Good command of German and English
