About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop switched-mode, bidirectional DC/DC converters and Active Front Ends rated up to 100 kW, from requirements and concept development through series production readiness
  • Design and size power stages, magnetic components, and driver, measurement, and protection concepts
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs related to performance, cost, robustness, and manufacturability
  • Oversee schematics and PCB layouts for power assemblies
  • Support thermal, electrical, and electromagnetic protection and validation activities
  • Plan commissioning and verification activities
  • Conduct structured analyses of complex failure modes
  • Provide traceable documentation of design decisions and verification evidence
  • Collaborate with developers from other disciplines, stakeholders in production and procurement, and external suppliers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Successfully completed degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, power engineering, or a comparable qualification combined with relevant practical expertise
  • Solid experience in power electronics development, as well as analog and digital circuit design
  • Good knowledge of control engineering for power electronics systems
  • Knowledge of the magnetic and thermal design of high-frequency transformers and inductors
  • Confident selection and qualification of power semiconductors, passive components, and driver and protection concepts
  • Knowledge of SiC and GaN technologies is an advantage
  • Experience in circuit simulation, commissioning, verification, and structured failure analysis
  • Independent, methodical, and team-oriented approach to work
  • Good command of German and English
