About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead execution of small- and medium-sized hardware development and/or VAVE projects from concept through production release
- Deliver predictable results for cost, schedule, quality, and performance
- Provide engineering leadership across multiple concurrent projects using standardized development processes, governance, metrics, and Ralliant Business System principles
- Develop and manage a flexible engineering delivery model using internal talent, technology partners, and OEM/ODM partners
- Manage third-party engineering relationships and ensure quality deliverables, intellectual property protection, and engineering standards compliance
- Evaluate engineering capacity, resource allocation, and project priorities
- Select, onboard, and manage third-party engineering contractors and development partners
- Support development and compliance for product requirements, technical deliverables, schedules, budgets, and performance expectations
- Monitor contractor performance, quality, and execution
- Build strategic relationships with third-party partners
- Lead a multidisciplinary team across hardware-related disciplines
- Remove execution barriers and facilitate cross-functional communication
- Support technical decision-making and empower engineers to own project execution
- Establish PCB layout priorities aligned with product development schedules
- Establish performance expectations and support team members' career development
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance engineering culture
- Lead enterprise-wide product development strategy with scalable frameworks and governance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- Demonstrated success delivering hardware products from concept through production
- At least 2 years leading multi-disciplined teams
- Strong project management and resource planning skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- International and domestic travel required up to 25% of the time
