About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install Growth Direct systems at new and existing customer sites
- Maintain Growth Direct systems
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance activities on time
- Provide service for emergency customer repairs according to warranty or service contract levels
- Complete service reports, expense reports, paperwork, and SFDC requirements
- Complete required training on time
- Develop working knowledge of industry practices and company policies
- Support the new instrument sales process by performing site inspections
- Perform technical work and make decisions at customer sites
- Prioritize schedules, evaluate situations, make travel choices, and escalate issues when needed
- Present recommendations with support and guidance from supervisors and senior-level FSEs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Candidates must reside in California
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Minimum of technical degree or equivalent military experience
- Experience working with mechanical systems consisting of pneumatic and servo-controlled mechanisms
- Experience working directly on software-controlled instruments
- Demonstrated experience in ISO or GMP controlled environments in the life science field
- Knowledge of computer networking
- Previous experience working as a field engineer
- Understanding of appropriate and professional customer handling
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret scientifically written documentation
- Computer/Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Outlook and Excel
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including on short notice
- Weekend on-call availability periodically required
- Ability to work extended hours at client sites when required
