About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and own the long-term QA strategy for Raw Power Games
- Lead, support and develop the existing QA team
- Prepare the QA function for Early Access, launch and future projects
- Build on existing processes without unnecessary hierarchy or disruption
- Work with production and development leadership to identify quality risks early and establish testing approaches
- Help define QA structure as the studio grows, balancing embedded project support and shared studio-wide capabilities
- Develop scalable QA processes for multiple teams and projects
- Shape strategy for internal testing, external QA partners and outsourced testing support
- Ensure QA coverage for game development and player-facing tools
- Collaborate with DevOps and technical specialists to align automation priorities with QA strategy
- Support release readiness and informed decisions around quality, risk and scope
- Foster an environment where team members raise concerns, share feedback and take ownership
- Stay informed about emerging QA practices, technologies and improvement opportunities
- Work closely with production, development leadership, DevOps and external testing partners
- Remain occasionally hands-on with the team, product and practical realities of game development
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of experience in games QA or software quality engineering
- 3+ years in a QA leadership role, with experience leading QA teams through at least one release
- Extensive professional experience in games quality assurance
- Experience mentoring senior QA Engineers and developing future QA leaders
- Experience managing and developing an established team
- Strong understanding of QA strategy throughout development, release and post-launch support
- Experience helping QA teams or organisations scale
- Experience working with external QA providers, outsourcing partners or vendors
- Clear understanding of the role automation can play within a broader QA strategy
- Experience collaborating closely with production, engineering, DevOps and other development disciplines
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to balance strategic planning with practical involvement
- Genuine passion for QA as a long-term discipline within game development
- Bonus: Experience working on an Unreal Engine project
- Bonus: Experience supporting a game through Early Access or launch
