About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a supplier portfolio end to end within a product category
- Act as the commercial owner of the portfolio, with autonomy within the authority limits defined for the role
- Lead commercial relationships with suppliers and monitor sales, profitability, inventory, cash conversion cycle, and losses
- Track sales, market share, margin, and inventory turnover, translating results into negotiation adjustments and assortment recommendations
- Monitor the return and execution of negotiated investments, including trade funds, commercial initiatives, and Joint Business Plans (JBPs)
- Report results, risks, and recommendations to area leadership
- Lead supplier negotiations, engaging directly with managers and directors
- Negotiate commercial terms, trade marketing funds, bonuses, and benefits in kind such as media, in-store visibility, and promotional initiatives
- Structure and negotiate Joint Business Plans (JBPs), aligning commercial targets and monitoring commitments
- Conduct performance reviews, develop joint improvement plans, and manage commercial contracts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree completed
- Advanced Excel skills
- Familiarity with data tools such as Power BI
- Senior-level experience leading high-value, complex negotiations and engaging with managerial and executive stakeholders
- Strong business acumen and ability to interpret commercial metrics—including sales, margin, inventory turnover, and market share—beyond traditional supply activities
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills, both with internal teams (Commercial, Marketing, and Finance) and external suppliers
