About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor security alerts, dashboards, and logs across Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Sentinel
  • Detect and respond to security incidents and track and prioritize vulnerability remediation
  • Manage and optimize Microsoft Defender security policies, configurations, and enterprise deployment
  • Use Microsoft Purview for Data Loss Prevention, eDiscovery, compliance enforcement, and sensitive-data protection
  • Develop and maintain custom detection rules and alerts
  • Respond to malware, virus, and endpoint-compromise incidents through forensic analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive measures
  • Document incident-response activities, findings, and lessons learned
  • Analyze threat intelligence and proactively hunt for threats using Microsoft Defender XDR
  • Develop strategies against ransomware, spyware, trojans, and other malware
  • Monitor cybersecurity trends, attack techniques, and adversary tactics
  • Report on security posture, incident metrics, and platform performance
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments on security best practices and system hardening
  • Assist with cybersecurity awareness training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, related field, or equivalent experience
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications, such as Microsoft SC-100/200/300/400, CompTIA Security+/CySA+/SecurityX, or GIAC GSEC/GCIH
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience managing, configuring, and utilizing Microsoft Defender, Purview, and Sentinel
  • Experience supporting aerospace and defense organizations subject to CMMC in Microsoft 365 GCC High preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to guide and influence technical teams
  • Proficiency with compliance tracking tools, GRC platforms, and project management tools a plus
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 10%
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. authorizations under ITAR
