About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee a team of medical writers within assigned therapeutic areas and client accounts
- Provide leadership and mentorship, fostering excellence and supporting professional growth
- Review and revise medical content for scientific accuracy and alignment with client strategies
- Counsel and partner with clients on medical strategies and related communication tactics and deliverables
- Serve as the primary medical point of contact for clients on projects and deliverables
- Provide strategic and tactical guidance while building client trust and maintaining communication
- Ensure deliverables meet standards for scientific accuracy, consistency, compliance, client guidelines, and industry regulations
- Partner with account and project leads on scopes, statuses, budgeting, resourcing, and cross-functional communication
- Support new business proposals and participate in client pitches
- Perform other duties related to business development and departmental or agency-wide initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience in healthcare communications within an agency, with a demonstrated track record of developing high-quality deliverables
- Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline (PhD, MD, or PharmD preferred)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive scientific narratives tailored to diverse audiences, including primary care physicians and specialists
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across diverse accounts, maintaining high-quality standards under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
- Familiarity with online proofing platforms (e.g., Workfront Proof, Ziflow) and Veeva Vault
- Proficiency with AI tools and resources to facilitate research and develop content efficiently and responsibly
- Ability to work eastern US hours
