About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop manufacturer partnership strategy and identify target manufacturers, product categories, decision-makers, offers, and pricing
  • Conduct market conversations during the first 90 days and document findings
  • Design commercial models for manufacturer partnerships, including market intelligence, takeoff capacity, business generation, or new models
  • Evaluate partnership models against manufacturers' budgeting, purchasing, and procurement processes
  • Use existing manufacturer relationships to initiate conversations
  • Run the full sales process from initial meeting through procurement, legal review, and signature
  • Build relationships with partnership decision-makers at manufacturers
  • Advise the product team on integrations, data, and capabilities needed for manufacturer partnerships
  • Research how manufacturers conduct takeoffs and the associated costs
  • Feed evidence from manufacturer conversations into product decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Deep, current relationships with US manufacturers in commercial HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or plumbing equipment
  • Breadth across several manufacturers and several product or equipment categories
  • Understanding of manufacturers' purchasing and procurement processes, budget ownership, and vendor/partner approval
  • Experience selling, structuring, or pricing offerings without a rate card
  • Independent approach to shaping, testing, and adapting market strategy
  • Senior track record closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals where the buyer had to be convinced the category was worth paying for
  • Comfortable in early-stage environments
  • Exceptional communication with operators and executives in the trades
  • Strong plus: experience in construction data or project-intelligence businesses
  • Strong plus: understanding of how manufacturers use project and specification data
  • Strong plus: experience building a partnership, channel, or data-licensing program from scratch
  • Strong plus: experience working closely with product teams to turn customer conversations into product decisions
