About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead NPD/EPD projects, BDIs, maintenance activities, and other initiatives as part of the One China R&D team
- Deliver projects on time, in full, within budget, and according to internal and external standards
- Complete required documentation and highlight issues or risks to line managers in a timely manner
- Liaise with cross-functional internal and external teams to meet technical milestones and KPIs
- Ensure product specifications and internal documentation are approved before full production start-up
- Compile, approve, and circulate technical reports throughout product development to maintain audit readiness
- Apply right-first-time practices and good documentation practices, including technical transfer
- Develop new product ideas and pipeline opportunities with a consumer- and digitally minded approach
- Create and develop robust evaluation methodologies for sustainable, consumer-relevant claims
- Support initiatives and developments in compliance with legislative, health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Drive continuous improvement of processes and systems for China and Reckitt systems
- Maintain workplace safety, health, and environmental standards
- Report unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and near-miss accidents and suggest improvements
- Monitor competitor activity in assigned areas
- Collaborate with the wider R&D matrix and other business functions across sites, cultures, and functions
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as engineering or sciences
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in R&D or technical support functions
- Relevant product development experience within an FMCG environment
- Interest in and experience with laboratory formulation development
- Proven track record of continuous improvement in working practices, processes, and capabilities in an audit-ready culture
- Strong analytical skills and ability to develop strategies, tactics, and measurable implementation plans
- Ability to transform solid thinking into action
- Strong intellectual curiosity and openness to change
- Ability to think out of the box
- Good English skills
- Experience in an international company is an advantage
- Strong responsibility and ownership of assigned tasks/projects
- Practical, technical, and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary project team
- Ability to work across NPD, BDIs, maintenance activities, product formats, and product categories
- Stakeholder engagement skills
- People management skills for direct and indirect reports as required
