About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Check gas meters for leaks and corrosion
  • Perform visual inspections
  • Ensure all required paperwork and data are completed
  • Report to the assigned work area on time at the start of each shift
  • Identify abnormal operating conditions while on-site
  • Accurately complete electronic or paper inspection forms
  • Work daytime shifts, with overtime and weekend work as required
  • Complete instructor-led training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
  • Proficiency with technology
  • Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
  • Able to pass a drug screen
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required
  • Ability to use simple hand tools
  • Ability to read a utility map
