About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Access the appropriate workflow for documents processed within the EHR
- Electronically identify the correct patient in the EHR
- Initiate and send Review Document tasks to providers
- Insert scanned documents into the appropriate patient folder
- Print daily indexing assignments
- Scan documents into the EHR under the appropriate provider, patient, and department
- Perform quality checks on documents as requested
- Build individual patient charts electronically
- Select the appropriate patient in the imaging system and ensure the correct chart structure
- Select the system folder and index the correct document date
- Assign document ownership
- Maintain professional behavior with patients and employees
- Follow Clinic policies and procedures
- Comply with Springfield Clinic incident reporting policies and procedures
- Adhere to OSHA and Springfield Clinic training requirements
- Provide excellent customer service according to the SC Way customer service philosophy
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Reports to the Operations Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School graduate or GED required
- 90-day work experience in document imaging required
- Electronic record forms/placement comprehension test required for successful completion of the probationary period
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to utilize multiple computer software programs
- Flexibility regarding assignments
- Positive attitude
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to process forms within production standards
- Must adhere to OSHA and Springfield Clinic training and accomplishment requirements
- Must comply with Springfield Clinic policies and procedures
- HIPAA2 privacy requirements
