Set the design vision for Search & Feeds across search, feed experiences, recommendations, and community discovery
Lead and develop design leaders and individual contributors
Coach design leaders and individual contributors, build clear ownership, and foster ambitious work and growth
Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify opportunities, establish priorities, and guide investment decisions
Drive interaction design, information architecture, accessibility, and execution quality from concept through launch
Improve clarity and user control over ranking, personalization, and recommendations
Design for specific-answer seekers, new-interest explorers, and returning community members
Evaluate how search and feeds affect participation, conversation quality, and community health
Measure usefulness, satisfaction, and discovery quality using research, experimentation, and behavioral data
Influence teams across Reddit, build alignment, and contribute to design standards and practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience leading design for complex consumer products at scale, with meaningful work in search, discovery, feeds, recommendations, or related experiences
Track record of building and developing design teams, including managing managers and supporting individual contributors
Strong product judgment and ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear strategies and compelling experiences
Deep expertise in interaction design and information architecture
Portfolio demonstrating design quality and measurable user impact
Experience partnering with Engineering, Product, Research, and Data Science on experiences shaped by ranking and personalization systems
Ability to balance user needs, business priorities, technical constraints, and broader product ecosystem health
Clear communication and ability to influence senior leaders, resolve competing priorities, and make decisions with incomplete information
Appreciation for community-driven products and different ways people seek information, participate, and build trust online
