About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Partner with Product Management, Product Design, Data Science, and iOS/Android/Web client engineers to translate business and user needs into reliable, low-latency technical solutions
Own the full software lifecycle for major product initiatives, from technical design documents and API contracts through development, testing, rollout, and observability
Design, build, and evaluate A/B experiments
Analyze user behavior, conversion funnels, and retention loops using tools such as BigQuery, HEX, or Firebase
Build and maintain scalable APIs and distributed backend services optimized for client consumption and consumer UI performance
Establish engineering best practices and improve developer workflows
Mentor teammates and use modern AI-integrated tools to ship high-quality products efficiently
Contribute to consumer products for content discovery, communities, growth, engagement, monetization, conversion, identity, and security

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of hands-on backend development experience
Experience building and operating large-scale distributed serving systems in high-concurrency environments
Proficiency in modern backend languages such as Go or Python, or Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C++
Expertise designing and maintaining scalable, maintainable APIs using GraphQL, REST, or gRPC
Experience with high-throughput caching layers and distributed datastores such as Redis, Cassandra, or PostgreSQL
Experience or interest in using AI-assisted engineering tools
User-centric mindset and understanding of product usability, interaction design, social dynamics, and user growth loops
Comfort designing experiments, establishing performance metrics, and iterating based on real-time feedback
Outstanding communication skills and a track record of driving cross-functional alignment in fully remote or hybrid team environments
