About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise
- Manage backlog grooming, sprint planning, and prioritization activities for data engineering projects
- Collaborate with business and technical leaders to execute strategic and tactical initiatives
- Identify and evaluate emerging data engineering platforms and tools to enhance the technology stack and data infrastructure
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines from TMS and other data sources
- Design and implement new data structures or extend existing structures to support evolving business requirements
- Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and completeness through validation and monitoring processes
- Develop and maintain the Data Vault, Data Warehouse, and Data Marts to deliver key metrics
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, executives, clients, engineers, and external vendors
- Improve and harden code deployments, data validation, error handling and alerting, data democratization, and modernization of technical debt
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent experience), preferably in Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
- 8+ years technology experience with one or more of Amazon Relational Database Service (Aurora, MySQL), Microsoft SQL Server, or Snowflake
- Exceptional SQL development and performance tuning skills
- Strong experience with Python, including Pandas, Streamlit, and NumPy
- Understanding of JSON and CSV
- Experience with Requests
- Experience with TMS, WMS, or other enterprise logistics platforms is a strong plus
- Experience with Data Vault 2.0 is a strong plus
- Experience with Fivetran is a strong plus
- Experience with Azure Data Factory is a strong plus
- Experience with REST API is a strong plus
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with Coalesce.io and YAML is a strong plus
- Experience with Git, DevOps, and CI/CD is a strong plus
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial, highly adaptable, and able to take initiative in a fast-moving environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
