About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the buyer in product sourcing, pricing metrics, SKU maintenance, vendor communication, forecasting order quantities, merchandising orders, sample management, vendor meeting preparation and participation, store distribution, and competitive analysis
  • Assist the buyer in category management
  • Merchandise stores and support REEDS.com to deliver an excellent customer experience and improve conversion rates
  • Research, develop, and present trend reports
  • Conduct competitive studies across assortments
  • Confirm merchandise quality and ensure REEDS rules of engagement are followed through the merchandise setup process
  • Assist with management and analysis of individual store product assortments
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships with the buyer
  • Prepare materials for productive vendor meetings, run reports, pull samples, and write meeting recaps
  • Monitor and follow up on vendor files and product cost sheets
  • Set up and maintain accurate product detail PLU information; request, review, file, and accurately enter vendor specification sheets
  • Manage purchase order entry, updates, costing, and delivery timelines
  • Protect and monitor category gross margin integrity
  • Manage vendor samples, including receiving, logging, organizing, and returning samples
  • Liaise between merchandising, marketing, and e-commerce teams on product and promotional needs, including catalog, categorization, attributions, copy, images, in-store displays, and signage
  • Coordinate marketing activities, including photography, social post suggestions, emails, and website updates
  • Review business reports with buyers to understand sales and productivity shifts, impacts on financial targets, and improvement opportunities
  • Train toward eventual responsibility for a product category with limited sales volume

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Work from REEDS Home Office 2 days a week minimum
  • Ability to travel
  • Willingness to attend after-hours job functions, including dinners, trainings, and events, when needed
  • Conduct business affairs in a legal and ethical manner
  • Compliance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Business casual dress code; no athletic sneakers or ripped jeans
  • Professional dress required for vendor meetings; no denim
  • Completion of GIA AJP course within 1 year of hire or equivalent training
  • Completion of GIA diamond lab course and any other required education, if offered
  • Completion of REEDS University and REEDS IT trainings and modules as required
  • Flexible schedule and possible travel up to 10%
  • Ability to perform repetitive movement and light lifting of less than 25 lbs
  • Ability to perform tasks while sitting for extended periods
  • Vision and hearing necessary to perform required tasks
