About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide operational leadership, direction, and support to assigned drug development programs and portfolios
- Drive cross-functional Strategic Program Teams and subteams
- Develop strategic plans covering goals, budgets, and timelines from preclinical through commercialization and lifecycle management
- Lead key governance meetings
- Align integrated project/program plans, timelines, and budgets with program vision
- Ensure efficient delivery of plans
- Propose and align annual program goals with program strategy and corporate goals
- Monitor progress and provide accurate, timely reporting to management
- Anticipate issues and program risks
- Develop risk management plans and drive issue resolution
- Identify industry risks, threats, and opportunities and translate them into actionable activities
- Drive decision-making and desired outcomes using awareness of team dynamics
- Establish open communication, transparency, accountability, and learning from mistakes
- Develop viable long-term solutions to cross-functional, project, process, and team issues
- Implement lessons learned and best practices across programs, therapeutic areas, and the department
- Strengthen teams and drive high performance and efficiency
- Coach and mentor junior colleagues
- Manage direct reports
- Work with collaborators and contribute to departmental initiatives
- Interact effectively with senior leadership and influence assignments’ direction and outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree
- 12+ years of relevant broad project / program management experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or related industry
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels internal and external to the company
- Ability to understand and motivate others and build effective teams
- Strong presentation and critical thinking skills
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced entrepreneurial organizations
- Expertise in dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty
- Proficiency in project management planning systems and tools/techniques, including MS Project and SharePoint
- Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix environment
