About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide operational leadership, direction, and support to assigned development programs and/or portfolios
  • Drive cross-functional development teams to create strategic plans with goals, budgets, and timelines
  • Monitor execution of development plans from preclinical through commercialization and lifecycle management
  • Lead strategic program teams and subteams and key governance meetings
  • Align integrated project/program plans, timelines, and budgets with program vision
  • Propose and align annual program goals with program strategy and corporate goals
  • Monitor progress and provide accurate, timely reporting to management
  • Anticipate risks and drive risk management plans and issue resolution
  • Identify industry threats, risks, and opportunities and translate them into actionable activities
  • Drive decision-making and desired outcomes in a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Promote open communication, transparency, accountability, and learning from mistakes
  • Analyze problems and implement long-term solutions, lessons learned, and best practices
  • Strengthen teams, manage conflict, and align team members toward common goals
  • Coach and mentor junior colleagues, manage direct reports, work with collaborators, and contribute to departmental initiatives
  • Interact with senior leadership and influence assignment direction and outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 12+ years of relevant broad project / program management experience required, preferably in the pharmaceutical or related industry
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels internal and external to the company
  • Strong presentation and critical thinking skills
  • Conflict management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced entrepreneurial organizations
  • Expertise dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Proficiency in project management planning systems and tools, including MS Project and SharePoint
