About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop accurate and timely total investigator grants and per-subject cost estimates using study design, schedules of events, fair market value tools, and relevant data
  • Review CRO and site-proposed changes to study-specific budget parameters with internal business lines
  • Ensure high-quality, compliant, effective, and timely deliverables
  • Provide subject matter expertise for assigned therapeutic areas
  • Monitor performance and efficiency standards for assignments
  • Develop and present budget scenarios to study teams for OPRB and related meetings
  • Determine overall investigator grant costs using per-subject cost outputs, protocol design, historical information, and operational approach
  • Manage study-scope changes, budget amendments, and implementation
  • Serve as point of contact for non-standard budget line items requiring internal approval
  • Engage stakeholders throughout the end-to-end budgeting lifecycle and resolve moderate- to high-complexity escalations
  • Develop and enhance site budgeting processes, guidance documents, and best practices
  • Lead process improvements, training sessions, and strategic initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and timely internal system updates
  • Prioritize assignments, make timely decisions, and direct outcomes
  • Onboard, train, and mentor peers; potentially manage direct reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of relevant experience
  • 3–5 years of direct experience with clinical site budgeting at a biopharmaceutical company, CRO, or site
  • 6 months of applicable mentoring and training and/or matrix-level people management experience
  • Ability to mitigate and drive solutions regarding site budgeting challenges
  • Ability to identify and implement best practices and contribute to continuous improvement for site budgeting
  • Ability to influence vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of site budgeting practices
  • Comfortable participating on and occasionally leading cross-functional teams of peers
  • Ability to lead, manage, coach, and train peers or direct reports
  • Ability to effectively onboard, train, and mentor peers
  • Ability to lead ongoing process improvements and participate in strategic initiatives
  • Functional subject matter expertise
  • May require up to 25% travel
