About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Initiate contact with circuit breaker, contactor, switchboard, and electrical distribution partners to obtain products meeting Rehlko specifications at competitive cost
- Conduct sourcing events evaluating price, availability, lead time, and quality
- Award business to suppliers based on financial soundness, technical proficiency, ethical integrity, quality, service, and total cost
- Create and maintain supplier source and price records in SAP
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and provide supplier performance feedback
- Assist material planners by following up on orders and ensuring on-time delivery
- Lead global sourcing initiatives from concept through completion, including RFQs, negotiations, data analysis, supplier reviews, cross-functional reviews, recommendations, contracts, and project management
- Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to source new and existing products
- Serve as an escalation point for supply constraints and own supplier relationships
- Monitor costing files and hold vendors accountable to costing programs
- Initiate cost reduction programs with suppliers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Materials teams
- Request and review quotations and recommend alternative materials or methods
- Recommend sourcing strategies and supplier base consolidation
- Resolve material rejection disputes with Supplier Quality
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports and status updates
- Monitor on-time delivery targets and resolve recurring and late delivery issues
- Establish and maintain supplier stocking programs and standard cost files
- Review Engineering Notifications and drawings
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related program, or a related bachelor’s degree with successful completion of the CPM certification
- At least 2 - 5 years of purchasing experience required
- Manufacturing and electronics background a plus
- Ability to conduct sourcing events evaluating price, availability, lead time, and quality
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers and analyze sourcing data
- Experience creating and maintaining supplier source and price records in SAP
- Ability to resolve invoice discrepancies and supplier disputes
- Ability to monitor supplier performance, costing, quality, and delivery
- Knowledge of global procurement policies and sourcing council processes
