About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform assigned engineering tasks for electric distribution systems under direct supervision
  • Utilize established procedures and software tools to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing data from internal and external sources to support engineering designs and project planning
  • Support the development and implementation of internal engineering work processes
  • Contribute to project documentation, reporting, and process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to complete assigned work
  • Occasionally travel to off-site project locations, seminars, or customer meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university
  • Basic knowledge of fundamental engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated initiative, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Texas
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers preferred
  • Basic experience with overhead and underground electric distribution systems preferred
  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software preferred
  • Technical writing experience or related coursework preferred
