About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build detailed, line-item IT budgets and monthly forecasts with IT managers and engineers based on technical roadmaps and vendor timelines
  • Monitor spending fluctuations and analyze variances against forecasts
  • Collaborate with technical owners to identify root causes of spending deviations
  • Own the end-to-end audit process for IT labor timekeeping
  • Ensure engineering hours are accurately tracked, coded, and compliant with accounting standards, including CapEx versus OpEx allocation
  • Reconcile open purchase orders and accrue technical vendor services
  • Validate operational data for accurate month-end close reporting
  • Maintain and optimize internal billing models to distribute IT infrastructure and service costs to consuming business units

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting, or Management Information Systems (MIS), OR 2–5 years of experience in a role requiring data reconciliation, operational budgeting, or cost accounting (IT environment preferred) required
  • Experience with time-tracking software such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Clarity is a plus
  • Experience with ERP tools such as SAP or Oracle is a plus
  • Experience with dedicated IT Financial Management (ITFM/TBM) software is a plus
  • Advanced Excel capability, including complex datasets, lookup functions, pivot tables, and data modeling, required
  • Ability to translate technical issues and their operational impacts into accounting implications, required
