About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and develop the overall strategy for insured accounts and non-insurance risk transfer techniques, including insurance policy placement
  • Provide accurate and responsive management for complex accounts
  • Provide guidance and mentorship in a team environment
  • Build and maintain client relationships to encourage new and repeat business
  • Serve as client advocate and primary point of contact for assigned accounts
  • Address questions, guide coverage changes, and educate clients on exclusions and exposures
  • Achieve assigned new business sales and client retention goals
  • Develop professional relationships and understand clients’ core businesses
  • Manage client expectations and service commitments while anticipating client needs
  • Identify coverage deficiencies and consult with clients to limit exposures
  • Analyze accounts based on risk characteristics and exposure
  • Handle complex accounts and design strategic insurance plans
  • Act as field underwriter and bind coverage as appropriate
  • Remarket renewals to support account retention
  • Prepare proposals, loss evaluations, and risk analyses for accurate quotations
  • Educate clients on policy coverage and changes
  • Assist with claims and facilitate prompt carrier responses
  • Conduct policy reviews during renewals and audits, verify accuracy, and execute corrections
  • Communicate significant audit discrepancies and determine further action
  • Review cancellation requests and attempt to retain client accounts while maintaining financial integrity
  • Maintain and update electronic files
  • Stay informed about industry developments, products, legislation, coverage options, and technology
  • Recommend process improvements
  • Adopt innovative technology, including proprietary AI solutions, into the service process
  • Perform other assigned projects, duties, and tasks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Property and Casualty License from state of domicile is required and must be maintained
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Four-year degree preferred
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in the insurance industry with a focus on Commercial lines of coverage required
  • In-depth understanding of all aspects of commercial lines of coverage
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of risk management and loss control
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn new software applications, such as online agency management systems and carrier sites
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance markets, products, services, insurance ratings and underwriting procedures
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel to client sites
  • Reliable source of transportation
  • Self-managed and responsible for project and time management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
