About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary business contact for small commercial accounts
- Act as project manager by communicating and guiding account teams to execute client-specific initiatives, business plans, and service timelines
- Develop programs and initiatives supporting clients’ overall portfolios
- Provide excellent customer service to assigned large accounts and represent client needs within the organization
- Build client relationships to encourage new and repeat business opportunities
- Build, expand, and solidify relationships with existing clients
- Lead appropriate resources to address clients’ risk management needs
- Understand clients’ strategic priorities and comfort level with risk
- Identify coverage deficiencies and consult with clients to limit exposures
- Analyze commercial lines accounts based on risk characteristics, exposure analysis, hazard recognition, and control
- Establish credibility with internal and external clients
- Create innovative insurance solutions
- Secure existing business and drive sales of additional services and coverages
- Develop and analyze program and coverage options across lines of business
- Present new business and renewal proposals to clients
- Gather information and complete applications and documentation for insurance market submissions
- Prepare account summaries
- Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development
- Service Relation Xpress/Small commercial lines accounts according to the Relation “Legendary Service” format
- Adhere to laws, regulations, compliance practices, and external compliance requirements
- Maintain and update electronic files
- Ensure policies are accurate and renewed timely
- Recommend process improvements
- Adopt innovative technology, including proprietary AI solutions, into the service process
- Perform other assigned projects, duties, and tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Property and Casualty License from state of domicile is required and must be maintained
- 7+ years’ experience in the insurance industry with a focus on Personal lines of coverage is required
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- In-depth understanding of all aspects of personal lines of coverage
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of risk management and loss control
- Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Computer literacy and ability to learn new software applications, such as online benefit enrollment programs and carrier enrollment sites
- Exceptional knowledge of insurance markets, products, services, insurance ratings and underwriting procedures
- Valid driver’s license, ability to travel to client sites, and reliable transportation
- Self-managed and responsible for project and time management
- Sales Oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- College degree preferred
- CPCU and/or Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations are a plus
