About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Review Jira stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria to develop comprehensive test plans and test cases
Design test scenarios for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end workflows
Identify and automate repetitive and high-value test scenarios
Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, requirement discussions, daily stand-ups, and release activities
Evaluate, recommend, implement, and administer the test automation framework and supporting tools
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, API, and system testing
Build reusable automation libraries, testing standards, coding standards, and documentation
Execute automated regression, smoke, and functional test suites
Perform manual testing when automation is not practical or during new feature development
Validate end-to-end business workflows across the claims processing platform
Verify fixes and ensure production readiness before releases
Identify, document, and track defects in Jira with reproduction steps and supporting evidence
Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues and validate resolutions
Retest resolved defects and confirm successful implementation
Communicate testing status, risks, and quality metrics throughout the development lifecycle
Recommend process improvements that increase testing efficiency and software quality
Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA team members throughout the Agile lifecycle
Partner with Product and Engineering to implement and improve the test automation strategy
Stay current on emerging automation tools, frameworks, and industry best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–5+ years of Quality Assurance experience with a strong focus on test automation – Required
Intermediate level experience with SQL and database validation – Required
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks – Required
Hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation – Required
Experience with test automation tools and frameworks – Required
Experience with API testing using Postman – Required
Experience working with Jira and Agile/Scrum methodologies – Required
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and defect lifecycle – Required
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills – Required
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams – Required
Experience implementing a test automation framework from the ground up – Preferred
Experience testing healthcare, claims processing, or other enterprise applications – Preferred
Familiarity with performance and load testing tools – Preferred
Experience mentoring QA team members on automation best practices – Preferred
