About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead complex reliability and toil-reduction initiatives
- Define and manage service level objectives (SLOs)
- Use observability tools and techniques across the full stack
- Serve as an escalation point during major incidents
- Troubleshoot system and application performance issues with development teams
- Migrate applications and services to Microsoft Azure
- Configure and optimize Azure Storage Accounts, Key Vaults, Service Bus, and Service Principals
- Implement resource groups, RBAC, and tagging for cost management and governance
- Maintain knowledge documentation
- Test and automate system and component failover and recovery
- Create operational health and lifecycle reports
- Recommend and drive initiatives to eliminate large-scale toil
- Provide consultancy for new “Paved Road” features and platforms
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must successfully pass a background investigation and achieve Public Trust security clearance
- Must be located near Horsham, PA for a hybrid onsite schedule
- Deep technical understanding of full-stack observability techniques
- Ability to create templated observability dashboards and configurations as code
- Participation in on-call rotations
- Experience testing failover across geographic regions in production
- Experience automating recovery using IaC and configuration management scripts
- Experience migrating applications to standardized platforms
- Azure expertise: VMs, Blob/File Storage, Key Vault, Functions, Service Bus, App Services, Service Principals
- Azure DevOps expertise: Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts, YAML pipeline authoring, CI/CD automation
- ARM Templates or Terraform; understanding of Ansible and Spacelift
- Azure AD, RBAC, Key Vault integration, VNets, subnets, NSGs
- PowerShell and/or Python and Bash
- Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics
- Strong documentation practices, effective communication, and mentoring ability
