About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own, define, and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for editorial decision-support solutions in the post-peer-review process
  • Lead delivery within a cross-functional agile team, manage priorities, maintain a healthy backlog, and ensure consistent product delivery
  • Partner with scientific editors to understand decision-making challenges, gather user insights, and translate findings into product improvements
  • Champion evidence-based decision-making through qualitative and quantitative research, analytics, experimentation, and clear success metrics
  • Collaborate with data science teams to evaluate AI-driven capabilities, including review synthesis, contradiction detection, and evidence linking
  • Measure product success through business and user outcomes, define KPIs and OKRs, communicate value, and assess build, buy, or partner options
  • Work with engineering and technical teams to balance product, technical, and architectural considerations
  • Ensure products support transparency, accountability, and responsible use of AI, with human oversight and auditability
  • Align stakeholders across Publishing, Technology, Operations, Editorial Strategy, and Research Integrity
  • Support go-to-market activities, product launches, customer adoption, and migration planning

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant product management experience, including ownership of product strategy, roadmap development, and delivery
  • Experience with Spec-Driven Development (SDD) is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong product judgment and ability to define complex problems, evaluate trade-offs, and focus on user outcomes
  • Experience working with AI and machine learning products, including generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or agent-based workflows
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data, experimentation, and research to inform decisions
  • Experience leading product initiatives within cross-functional teams and delivering outcomes in complex settings
  • Experience collaborating with data scientists and translating model evaluations and insights into product decisions
  • Understanding of technical concepts and architectural trade-offs, with ability to work effectively alongside engineering teams
  • Experience prototyping with AI tools is helpful but not required
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of how product decisions contribute to organisational goals and customer value
  • Familiarity with scholarly publishing, editorial workflows, peer review, or research integrity is advantageous but not required
