About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as lead legal advisor for complex, high-value enterprise sales transactions
  • Work with Account Executives and customer legal teams to negotiate and close sophisticated software agreements
  • Advise enterprise customers on legal and regulatory implications of AI-powered development tools
  • Address data privacy, security, and compliance requirements across industries
  • Design and implement contract playbooks, template agreements, and streamlined commercial legal processes
  • Identify, analyze, and proactively manage commercial and legal risks while maintaining deal velocity
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, and Privacy teams
  • Advise leadership on commercial legal matters, emerging AI regulations, and market trends
  • Build trusted relationships with enterprise customer legal teams to facilitate Replit platform adoption

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 5–7 years of relevant legal experience supporting enterprise software sales and complex commercial transactions
  • Strong background in SaaS agreements, software licensing, and technology transactions
  • Experience with AI/ML tools, developer platforms, or cloud infrastructure is a bonus
  • Proven track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals in fast-paced environments
  • Exceptional business judgment and ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience presenting to and influencing C-level executives and enterprise customer stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments and build processes from the ground up
  • Collaborative mindset and track record of building strong cross-functional relationships
  • In-house counsel experience at technology companies is a bonus
  • Experience with AI, machine learning, or developer platform companies is a bonus
  • Experience with regulated industries or compliance requirements is a bonus
  • Experience supporting sales teams through hypergrowth phases is a bonus
  • Must be able to work from the Foster City, CA office three days per week
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
