About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build RevenueCat's next generation of monetization products for app developers
- Understand customer problems, identify opportunities, form hypotheses, and own roadmap areas end-to-end
- Work closely with engineering and design to ship quickly and determine what comes next
- Report to the product lead for Ads and serve as the primary IC product owner for ad monetization
- Build understanding of ad revenue tracking, rewarded-ad infrastructure, virtual currency, and entitlement flows
- Talk with customers to understand product performance and opportunities
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, data, and go-to-market counterparts
- Develop context on strategy, customer research, technical architecture, and roadmap hypotheses
- Own meaningful portions of the ad monetization roadmap
- Drive product discovery, prioritization, execution, and validation of product hypotheses
- Ship meaningful improvements and develop evidence-backed investment signals
- Establish a long-term point of view and roadmap for ad monetization
- Improve understanding of the vendor ecosystem, customer needs, competitive landscape, and industry trends
- Act as an internal domain expert on advertising and monetization
- Ship products that create measurable monetization value and a new growth opportunity for RevenueCat
- Stop, change, or deprioritize bets when evidence shows they are not delivering expected value
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience owning product decisions end-to-end
- Built and shipped publisher-facing ad monetization products for mobile apps
- Deep understanding of mobile ad monetization mechanics, including publisher inventory, demand sources, auctions, pricing, mediation, and measurement
- Understanding of the incentives of different participants in the ad ecosystem and the technical and commercial implications of product decisions
- Entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for developing an initiative with early traction
- Sufficiently technical to work closely with engineering on SDKs, APIs, integrations, data flows, and other technical product decisions
- Demonstrated ability to ship and learn quickly, including finding pragmatic solutions to hard problems with many constraints
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity, making decisions under uncertainty, and taking responsibility for outcomes
- Clear communication across different audiences and media, particularly in writing
