About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality code for BCycle applications
Ensure smooth integration between front-end, back-end, databases, and external APIs
Contribute to architectural design and implementation of new features
Contribute to technical system architecture for scalability and reliability
Complete code reviews and provide feedback
Provide technical guidance to junior team members
Solve complex technical challenges and define technical approaches
Participate in scrum ceremonies including daily standups, backlog refinement, and sprint review
Collaborate with software engineering, quality assurance, and product teams on feature delivery, testing, and documentation
Communicate technical concepts and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Participate in software deployments and on-call rotations
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
Improve development practices, tooling, software performance, reliability, and user experience
Work on station technology integrations, an administration website, a .NET MAUI mobile app, and GBFS/MDS data feeds

Requirements

What you’ll need

Undergraduate degree in computer science or equivalent experience
8-10+ years of experience in software development
5+ years experience with C# and .NET (.NET 6 or newer preferred)
3+ years experience with cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure preferred)
1-3+ years experience with modern front-end javascript frameworks (Vue preferred)
Experience with database technologies (SQL Server, MSSQL)
Experience with RESTful APIs using Web API, ASP.NET Core
Experience with agile development methodology
Understanding of microservice architecture and cloud-hosted systems
Familiarity with latest security protocol standards, including HTTPS and OAuth2
Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
Experience working in the micromobility, cycling and/or urban transportation infrastructure industries preferred
Experience with Linux a plus
Experience with Docker a plus
Experience with IoT software engineering a plus
Required standing or sitting for several hours straight at a time
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with company policy
Repetitive motion required of the wrists, hands, or fingers occasionally throughout the workday
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and video conferencing throughout the workday
Some hours outside of the regular schedule, including nights and weekends, may be required
