About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Clean, treat, and plate a variety of components according to verbal or written process instructions
- Teach the plating process to other employees
- Keep written documentation and records according to supervisor requirements and ISO-9001 guidelines
- Assist the supervisor in writing new parts processing instructions
- Mix chemicals and solutions according to written documentation
- Operate material and plating analysis equipment to inspect work by measurement, appearance, or gauging
- Move and maintain chemical supplies and hazardous waste in containers up to 55 gallons
- Make equipment adjustments to ensure quality products
- Write work orders when plating equipment requires maintenance or repair
- Analyze process solutions and make additions based on chemical analysis
- Assist with wastewater treatment monitoring and controls
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping practices
- Fill in for other departments during idle times
- Perform aqueous degreasing operations as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Good math skills
- Ability to understand and implement safe chemical handling
- 3-5 years’ experience in plating and cleaning operation
- Copper, nickel, and silver plating experience
- Experience with wastewater treatment systems is very desirable
- Knowledge of chemical and material processes
- Safety-oriented mindset
- Previous hazardous waste and chemical training
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Must wear required protective clothing, boots, and other safety equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
- A degree is preferred
