About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and support modelling and analytics applications in React and Python
Build new web applications and APIs
Add new features and functionality to the current platform
Improve the usability and performance of data schemas and data visualizations as a DevOps specialist
Design and build reliable, high-performance Python services and APIs serving data to the front end
Build and maintain data integrations and ETL pipelines
Write efficient SQL against databases
Translate wireframes and complex data requirements into polished React interfaces
Create and maintain reusable UI component libraries
Collaborate with product design, product management, UI/UX, backend engineering, analysts, management, and customer-facing teams
Participate in peer code reviews and share knowledge
Improve the platform and advocate for appropriate new technologies
Help customers tackle climate change

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in Python and its core principles
Experience with enterprise computing, data integrations, SQL, and ETL tools
Ability to translate wireframes and complex data requirements into functional React code and user interfaces
Experience working directly with analysts and management teams on complex business and financial data for decision support
Experience collaborating with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend engineers
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in TypeScript and React
Experience developing visualizations for geospatial or complex scientific datasets
Familiarity with modern CSS frameworks and methodologies, such as Styled-components and Tailwind CSS
Working knowledge of Agile/SCRUM development
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes on GCP
Working knowledge of GCP
Exposure to Plotly Dash
