About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding
- Coordinate background checks, fingerprinting, and required employment clearances
- Manage onboarding for new hires, transfers, and temporary staff
- Coordinate new hire appointments, paperwork, credential verification, and ID cards
- Create and maintain accurate, compliant employee files
- Conduct employee file audits to ensure required documentation is complete
- Maintain accurate employee records and updates in ADP
- Support employees and supervisors with basic HR policy and procedure questions
- Build employer brand visibility through candidate-focused events and initiatives
- Review employee documentation to ensure compliance with agency and funder requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 1–2 years of experience as an HR Assistant plus 1 year of experience in Recruiting
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment
- Ability to balance priorities and meet important deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and follow through
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work in-person in New York City (NYC)
- Ability to travel to other Rising Ground Sites if required
