About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect, repair, maintain, and install customer equipment
- Develop and maintain customer relationships
- Comply with company policies and safety guidelines
- Perform field installation, inspection, and repair efficiently while meeting customer needs
- Guide and train less experienced Service Technicians as skills and knowledge develop
- Complete service tickets, timesheets, open job tracking forms, and safety analysis sheets using handheld devices or paper backup forms
- Maintain compliance with Field Service Technician Handbook operation and communication standards
- Operate service vehicles, truck-based cranes, forklifts, welders, torches, and power and hand tools
- Follow customer-specific worksite requirements, policies, safety guidelines, and directions
- Collaborate with company departments to coordinate activities and maximize customer satisfaction
- Travel domestically overnight occasionally for training and customer support
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to five years’ experience in repair and service of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical equipment
- Valid driver’s license
- Passing DOT medical exam
- Applicable driver qualification standards at all times
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints and schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to operate a service vehicle in compliance with DOT Driver Qualification standards
