About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage River Cleanup's day-to-day presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
- Create engaging content and grow social media channels through audience engagement and reach opportunities.
- Maintain a content calendar planned at least one month ahead.
- Coordinate social content with campaigns, website content, email and other marketing channels.
- Write platform-specific social copy.
- Create on-brand visual content using Canva.
- Shoot and edit short-form video for Reels, TikTok and other social formats.
- Brief and coordinate external agencies, freelancers and content creators.
- Schedule and publish accurate, timely and on-brand content.
- Identify relevant stories, trends and content opportunities.
- Source stories, images, video and information from colleagues and global River Cleanup teams.
- Capture and publish content from campaigns, cleanups and events when needed.
- Manage comments, direct messages and community emails.
- Engage followers and relevant online communities.
- Build relationships with creators and influencers.
- Surface recurring questions, feedback and conversations to the wider team.
- Set up and manage paid campaigns across Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok.
- Monitor, optimize, track spend and performance, and report on paid campaigns.
- Monitor organic and paid social performance across channels.
- Produce regular reporting against agreed KPIs.
- Identify trends, opportunities and areas requiring attention.
- Use performance data to improve day-to-day content execution.
Requirements
What you’ll need- +3 years of professional experience in social media, digital communications, content creation or a related role.
- Experience managing social channels for an organization, brand or agency.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Professional proficiency in either Dutch or French; proficiency in both is strongly preferred.
- Strong social media copywriting skills.
- Experience independently shooting and editing short-form social video.
- Demonstrable Canva skills and a good eye for engaging visual content.
- Hands-on experience setting up, managing, optimizing and reporting on paid social campaigns.
- Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube and how content works differently across them.
- Experience with Meta Business Suite and Meta Ads Manager, as well as TikTok Ads Manager.
- Familiarity with HubSpot, GA4 and social scheduling or reporting platforms is an advantage.
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to plan ahead, take initiative, spot opportunities, take ownership and follow through.
- Comfortable receiving and applying constructive feedback.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Curiosity about social media and changing formats, trends and platform behavior.
- Enjoyment of working with people from different teams, countries and backgrounds.
- CV, motivation letter and examples of social media work, including copywriting, visual content and short-form video.
