About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Integrate software components into the vehicle software system, supporting bench testing and in-vehicle integration
  • Ensure compatibility with existing systems
  • Create test plans and perform integration testing of Merge Requests for Body and Lighting features
  • Develop test cases and scripts for Unit, Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL), and vehicle test environments
  • Conduct hands-on software testing, execute tests, and analyze results
  • Maintain Body-Bucks, HiL test assets, and vehicle test assets on current software for Merge Request testing and bug triage
  • Triage bugs across programs
  • Lead root cause analysis and troubleshoot functional vehicle problems across physical, electrical, and software domains
  • Prioritize and escalate issues based on user impact and program objectives
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams and program partners to align on software defects and priorities and keep programs on schedule
  • Join Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies, a joint venture developing software, controllers, cloud, and connectivity solutions for electric vehicles

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
  • 2+ years of experience working with automotive control systems
  • Experience with Requirements Management System
  • Experience with Task Management systems, e.g. JIRA
  • Experience with Source Control/Revision Control systems, e.g. Git
  • Proficiency with CAN/LIN/ETH tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, and CANape
  • Understanding of embedded hardware and software design
  • Demonstrated creativity in design work and hands-on building abilities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as required
  • Current authorization to work in the United States is requested in the application process
