About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the architecture and development of advanced automotive lighting control systems and features
- Review and refine requirements and produce high-level functional specification designs
- Develop validation strategies, plans, and feature-level calibration processes
- Create and oversee test cases and scripts for Unit, Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing
- Collaborate with controls engineers and cross-functional teams to develop and improve vehicle simulation models
- Ensure software robustness and seamless integration of new features
- Troubleshoot complex vehicle functional problems across physical, electrical, and software domains
- Oversee multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications while managing resources and budgets
- Prioritize and escalate issues based on user impact and program objectives
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering; Master's degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience working with automotive control systems, with a proven track record of leading projects
- Deep understanding of embedded systems architecture and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- In-depth knowledge of control theory principles and algorithm design, including compensator design and PID tuning
- Expertise in C programming languages and Python
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodologies, including Agile and Scrum
- Experience with requirements management, revision control, and issue management systems such as JIRA, JAMA, and Git
- Familiarity with FMEA and fault-tree failure analysis methodologies, including leading FMEA sessions
- Proficiency with CAN/LIN/ETH tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, and CANape
- Deep understanding of embedded hardware and software design
- Demonstrated creativity in design work and hands-on building abilities, with a portfolio of successful projects
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as required
- Authorization to work in the United States is requested in the application
