About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with external customer brands to harmonize desired vehicle behaviors with technical architecture constraints
  • Ensure core vehicle power moding software supports diverse vehicle portfolios without bespoke changes for each brand
  • Own the end-to-end technical definition of the vehicle power moding system
  • Partner with the TPM to scope and prioritize the technical roadmap against vehicle program milestones
  • Lead arbitration logic design for competing subsystem power requests and safe, predictable power states
  • Define software interfaces and APIs for the power moding service over an Ethernet backbone with zonal controllers
  • Implement power-related Limp-Home strategies with functional safety and energy management teams
  • Orchestrate tiered load-shedding and degraded-state transitions during system failures
  • Decompose high-level vehicle requirements into testable software, hardware, and integration specifications
  • Define deterministic timing and sequences between power moding software and LV/HV subsystems
  • Manage vehicle-level sleep budgets and align them with vehicle range and standing-time targets
  • Support SIL and HIL test-case definition for high-risk transient power transitions
  • Lead DFMEA and FTA functional analysis for hardware failures and degraded system states
  • Guide engineers in requirements decomposition, traceability, and complex power-system integration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in systems engineering for complex electromechanical platforms
  • Ability to design timing-critical sequences managing high-transient loads and ensuring system stability
  • Deep understanding of high-voltage to low-voltage conversion and stable power rails with limited energy buffering
  • Expertise with requirements management tools such as Flow, Jama, Polarion, or DOORS
  • Experience decomposing high-level system intents into testable software/hardware specifications
  • Ability to set technical direction, lead cross-functional negotiations, and harmonize competing requirements
  • Strong experience with DFMEA and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
  • Ability to manage technical scope across multiple vehicle platforms simultaneously
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262, DO-178C, or IEC 61508
  • Experience designing fail-safe power state transitions
  • Ability to translate qualitative user feel into quantitative system requirements and technical specifications
