About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead automated test solution development for zonal and BMS ECUs from requirements through deployment
- Design and build automated test equipment for high-channel-count I/O, power switching, load emulation, diagnostics, and current sensing
- Design and build battery-management test equipment for cell voltage measurement, balancing, pack current sensing, and cell-monitoring links
- Define testing strategies with electronics, power electronics, and BMS design teams
- Provide system requirements covering channel counts, load budgets, switching topology, measurement uncertainty, high-voltage safety, and fixture design
- Develop Python test sequences using the standard automation framework and AI coding agents while owning code quality and validation
- Integrate firmware, hardware, and software, including DUT bring-up, bootloaders, flashing, UDS diagnostics, calibration, production test modes, and instrument control
- Implement fault-injection coverage and verify ECU diagnostic responses
- Build reliability-lab and high-volume manufacturing test solutions
- Document test cases, calibration procedures, operating procedures, and high-voltage safe-work procedures
- Lead deployment using GR&R, CPK, stress testing, and fault injection
- Collaborate with validation, reliability, EMC, functional safety, and product launch teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/MS or equivalent work experience in Electrical, Electronics, or Power Electronics Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant experience designing automated test equipment for electronics
- Meaningful experience with high-I/O, power switching, or battery management products
- Hands-on experience testing zonal/body controllers, power distribution or e-fuse modules, motor/actuator drivers, or battery management systems
- Experience with programmable DC power supplies, electronic loads, source measure units, precision DMMs, relay and switch matrices, oscilloscopes, current probes, arbitrary waveform generators, and multifunction DAQ
- Experience with battery cell simulation and emulation equipment
- Understanding of automotive power fundamentals, including load dump, transient immunity, inrush, inductive kickback, thermal derating, current sensing, grounding, return path design, and measurement uncertainty
- Ability to read electrical circuits and schematics and navigate PCB layouts, including high-voltage power planes, current paths, and creepage/clearance
- Experience in automotive, industrial power, energy storage, semiconductor, or aerospace industries
- Familiarity with CAN, CAN-FD, DoIP, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, SENT, UDS, and XCP
- Experience with USB, VISA, GPIB, Ethernet, Serial, RS-485, SPI, and I2C
- Experience supporting automated test equipment deployment in manufacturing environments
- Solid Python programming experience
- Demonstrated use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor
- Preferred: high-voltage safety training and HV battery experience; C/C++ firmware or embedded development; custom PCBAs, load emulation boards, or high-current fixtures; cell balancing/SOC/SOH validation; SQL, Databricks, or Apache Superset
