About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Draft and file defenses in civil courts and small claims courts for cases before the State and/or Federal Courts
- Enter an appearance in cases when the firm is not yet counsel of record, including filing the client’s organizational documents
- Update internal systems with the drafted pleading and corresponding filing receipt
- Complete the client’s platform (Settlement Simulator) when filing the defense to assess settlement eligibility
- Critically analyze the eligibility results and forward eligible cases for negotiation
- Complete the client’s platform at a time other than when filing the defense to assess settlement eligibility
- Forward eligible cases for negotiation through the internal system
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree completed
- Active Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) license
- Experience drafting legal pleadings is a plus
- Experience in high-volume litigation preferred
