About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs in a horizontally scaled, microservices-based architecture
Define and implement transactional flows across multiple microservices, handling consistency, failures, and retries
Learn the client's business model and build trusted relationships with client stakeholders
Own features and projects end to end, from technical design and estimation through delivery and production support
Write high-quality, well-tested code following coding standards and best practices
Analyze complex problems, troubleshoot production issues, and make informed technical decisions
Collaborate with engineers, product, QA, business partners, managers, and engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of software development experience with JavaScript / TypeScript
3+ years building backend services with Node.js and at least one modern framework such as NestJS, Express.js, or Hono
Experience designing and building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
Hands-on experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud
Solid knowledge of distributed system design and horizontally scaled environments
Experience with relational and non-relational databases
Experience with messaging or event-driven systems such as SQS/SNS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ
Experience writing unit and integration tests such as Jest or Vitest
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and observability
Proficiency with Git and code versioning workflows
Strong grasp of software design patterns and principles
Ability to estimate work accurately
Advanced English level
Experience in banking/fintech and previous tech lead experience are pluses
