About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own end-to-end design for the Rentals experience for renters and property managers, from initial search through signed lease
Set product vision and define, prioritize, and sequence product bets for a new business
Move rapidly from ideas to evidence using AI and prototyping tools
Create real, testable artifacts for users and stakeholders
Partner with the Director of Product, Rentals, on strategy, scope, and tradeoffs
Design the B2B experience from scratch, including property-manager listing, management, and renter-connection tools
Conduct lightweight user research and analyze funnel data
Make decisions using both quantitative and qualitative signals
Extend the design system where appropriate and justify departures where needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years as a product designer
Portfolio of shipped products demonstrating design decisions, outcomes, and impact
Prior zero-to-one product experience
Ability to make decisions with incomplete information and adapt based on data
Daily practical use of AI tools in the design process
Ability to demonstrate AI-assisted design work and articulate where AI helps and does not help
Systems thinking for a multi-sided marketplace involving renters, property managers, listings, and the Redfin and Rocket ecosystem
Exceptional product design craft
Ability to communicate product vision to engineers, executives, and skeptics
Scrappy and self-directed approach
Genuine interest in renters and their needs
Experience with marketplaces or B2B products is a plus
